Legacy Preservation Base Package and Deposit

Legacy Preservation scans your vintage letters, cards, and family documents in high-resolution full color, returns the originals to you, and gives you both a digital archive to share and a custom hardcover book printed from the scans. The $449 package is a deposit credited toward your project total, and it covers the first two hours of studio time, project management, shipping both ways, and your digital file.

The package includes

  • Chronological sorting by date or postmark
  • Careful opening and unfolding, unfold dog ears, remove staples, etc.
  • High resolution, full color scanning 300 or 600 dpi
• Envelopes are scanned for the digital file; inclusion in the printed book is optional
• Extra attention and care as needed for delicate/damaged/deteriorated items
• Review, document assembly, and print set up
• 20 page sample proof to view online. Full proofs with revisions are optional and by request.
• Optimized print ready PDF file, deliverable via download link for you to keep and share
• Backup copy of your file stored for 1 year

• Additional studio time: $95/hour, billed in 1/2 hour increments

Total Studio Time Estimator

If your project is small and only around 100 to 200 pages total, it will most likely be covered within the two hours included. Projects over 200 pages will begin to incur additional studio time.

• Estimate an additional $95 studio time for every 100-150 pages

Exceptionally fragile letters, bifolium letters, and specialty items require additional time, which can vary depending on their nature. A few among a large collection won't impact much.

Additional Book Copies & Discounts
Additional copies ordered at the same time may receive a discount depending on the number of additional books and the total print volume. We can quote that for you when we have a final page count.

Plan Ahead for the Holidays
For guaranteed Christmas delivery, deposit must be paid and your materials in house before Thanksgiving. After those dates, we may still be able to take your project on, but we may require additional production or expedited shipping fees to get your project completed in time to ship.

All Christmas orders are completed and shipped by December 12, 2026 to avoid expedited shipping rates.
