Q and A
Are you really binding the originals?
Yes! Your book is unique and one of a kind because it will have all your original pieces.
What do you mean by “Pages”?
Page = Sheet of paper/piece of artwork. In other words, pages are the same as pieces. If you have 30 sheets of construction paper artwork that is 30 pages. If both sides are written on or decorated, it still counts as one. If you have smaller or odd shaped pieces that are less than 8.5 x 11, each still counts as ONE. That includes photos, notes, cards…each counts as one.
What size paper can I send?
Your book is sized for standard 8.5 x 11 pages, so your pages will be prepared fit that size, as follows:
Smaller or odd shaped items will be bound as is OR will be mounted.
Larger pieces will be trimmed and/or folded to fit the book, depending on their size. We look at each piece to determine whether to trim, fold, or both.
We share your desire to have your original piece bound, so we have tricks up our sleeve to make that happen.
When do I design my cover?
When you are ready to send your papers, you will access our online design gallery and customize your book. Type your book title, choose your font style and foil color, add features, you can even change your book color if you want.
How long do I have to send in my pages?
There is no deadline. The paid label in your kit is good for one year. If it’s been 11 months since you ordered, please request a new label from us.
My artwork has lots of embellishments like googly eyes, cotton balls, q-tips, buttons, pom poms, etc. Can you bind these?
In most cases, yes, as long as we can manipulate/adjust the piece as follows:
Googly eyes are replaced with flattened ones.
Pom poms are cut off, leaving a remnant
Cotton balls are thinned out and flattened
Q-Tips, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners may be adjusted, trimmed, or removed if they interfere with binding and are not critical to the piece.
What CAN’T you bind?
The following items cannot be bound and will be returned:
Paper plates, stiff cardboard, stiff laminate, thick/3-D embellishments like jewels, beads, buttons, thick foam stickers.
Food and organic items like cereal, corn, beans, macaroni, rice, dirt, sand, or anything else that could crumble and/or damage our equipment
I have many smaller items like notes, doodles, and mementos, what about all of that?
There is no deadline. The paid label in your kit is good fEach item counts as one regardless of size, unless you want to add on our scrapbooking service. If you have many smaller items you would like included in your book, such as sticky notes, index cards, ticket stubs, postcards, doodles, valentines, etc., we recommend adding our scrapbooking service when you send your papers. This service is not included in the book price, as it requires additional time, materials, and focus to prepare by hand.
