FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is the Vintage Letter scanning service?

  • Our Vintage Letter scanning service allows you to digitize your vintage letters, preserving their content and historical significance. We scan, create a PDF for you to keep, then we print and create a custom-made hardcover book containing your family's precious history.

2. Why should I scan my vintage letters?

  • Scanning vintage letters preserves them for future generations, makes them easily shareable, and protects them from damage or loss. It allows you to create a lasting keepsake of your family's history.

3. What types of letters do you work with?

  • We work with letters from various periods, including WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan, as well as friendship, romantic, courtship, political, and mission letters dating back to the early 1900's.

4. How does the process work?

  • Your finished book involves three steps: Scanning & Document Setup, Printing, and Custom Book Binding. We scan in color and provide a digital PDF document of your letters.  We then provide print pricing in both color and black and white so you can decide which you prefer.  Finally, we print and bind your books.

5. What is the cost of the scanning service?

  • The cost to scan will depend on the number of letters, how many pages in each letter, and whether you choose black and white or color printing. A typical project will be anywhere from 2-4 hours, or $170 - $255.  That's not bad to permanently preserve your precious history!

6. Can I include envelopes, postcards, and photos in the scanning process?

  • Yes, we can scan envelopes, postcards, and photos. However, additional items may increase scanning time and the final page count, so we can do a few, some or all depending on your budget.

7.  How much will a finished book cost?

  • This will depend on the final number of pages to print and then professionally bind.  Let's say your final document is 200 pages. 1 book printed in color will be $289. Printed in black and white will be $189.  This is separate from the cost to scan.

8. Do you offer customization options for the final book?

  • Yes, we offer customization options, including choosing the book color, foil print on the cover, book title on the spine, and adding a photo to the Title page if desired.

9. What is the payment process?

  • A $300 deposit is required to initiate the project and get you scheduled.  The final total is calculated after scanning, and payment is required before printing.

10. How long does the entire process take?

  • The process typically takes 4-6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the project and the time of year. If you have a tight deadline, we do whatever we can to meet it, so please contact us to discuss.

11. Can I bind the original letters instead of or in addition to scanning?

  • Yes, we offer a service to bind the original letters after scanning or instead of scanning. The cost is $249 per book, and we aim to include as much as we can fit in one book.  Typically, it's 50-75 letters but it all depends on how many sheets of paper there are per letter.

"My children asked me to write my memories and have them printed and hardbound into an 81/2x11 book. I got my memories together but had no idea how or where to have them printed and professionally bound. I fortunately saw 4everbound's postings on Facebook and decided to reach out to them for guidance. To say that owner Robyn Pomonis gave me guidance is an understatement. She graciously held my hand throughout the entire process and my family and I could not be happier with how the books turned out! Thanks so much Robyn and 4everbound!" - Janet Stone

"Just received my 6th 4everBound book and it, like the others is perfect! This book was different than the school memory books I ordered in the past. This was a family archive book for my elderly father complete with family deeds, pictures and history. Trust 4everBound with your memories, you won't be disappointed!" - Gail Doran
